The signed cooperation agreement between VNU and HSE University is a continuation of the initial agreement dated June 20, 2024. It aims to further strengthen scientific and academic collaboration between the two universities.
Speaking at the meeting, VNU President Le Quan expressed his belief that the signing of this cooperation agreement would serve as a solid foundation for both sides to promote more concrete and effective collaborative activities in the future. Under the agreement, VNU and HSE will jointly establish a scientific research institute based at VNU. According to VNU President Le Quan, this is a significant initiative that will create a high-quality, interdisciplinary research space. Through this institute, the two universities can jointly implement training and research activities in key areas such as high technology, artificial intelligence, and socio-economic development policy.

He also noted that there was a strong potential for the two universities to co-organize flexible training programs and specialized short courses, particularly summer schools, to enhance academic and cultural exchange among students. He proposed that both institutions encourage exchange programs under the framework of the Russian Government’s 1,000 annual scholarships for Vietnamese citizens, covering undergraduate, master's, doctoral programs, internships, and Russian language training. These programs are to focus on the fields aligned with Vietnam’s training needs and Russia’s academic strengths, as previously agreed upon by both parties. In addition, VNU President stressed the importance of identifying and implementing joint research projects in shared priority areas such as digital and green transitions, artificial intelligence, energy, international relations, architecture, and design, which would bring practical benefits to both sides.
